280X Fingerprint Door Knob, Smart Door Knob with APP Control

this smart lock can be opened one of three ways by using your fingerprint (it will recognize up to 50 different prints), the app on your phone, or an emergency key. It does take batteries but can be unlocked using a power bank if they die before you replace them. It was an easy install and setup which I do appreciate as I am not very handy with this modern technology.

This fingerprint door lock was easy to install and very easy to setup. I’d already had another fingerprint door lock that uses the tuya app so i already had an account so getting this one ready was very easy. Pretty much right after I reset the lock per the instructions and I launched the app and logged in; the lock showed up in my app without me doing anything so that was pretty slick. After the lock showed up in my app I was able to add fingerprints. I add as many as I can so that if I get a cut I will have another fingerprint that can trigger the door lock, I’ve learned as I get more fingerprint locks I try and add many different fingerprints so that I have alternatives if my fingerprint isn’t reading I can try another fingerprint. Though this lock’s fingerprint reader is better than other fingerprint locks its fingerprint reader is not the best I’ve used. I found that this lock’s fingerprint reader was having difficulty matching my fingerprint post shower, I had tried all of the fingerprints that I added but none of them worked, I waited for my hands to dry off a bit more before it was able to read my fingerprint again. Overall I found this lock to be well built, simple to install, easy to setup and is a decent value for a fingerprint lock.

Maybe that's because it only supports Bluetooth out of the box. For a WiFi connection you will need to purchase a separate gateway. But for an interior door, I think the ability to open it with either my fingerprint or via Bluetooth with an app are all of the capabilities I need. I would only need WiFi access if it was for an exterior door. The installation video on the product page is excellent, one of the best I have seen. If you watch that you should have no trouble installing it. If the batteries die, you can still unlock it with a key. The keyhole is on the bottom of the door knob. For the price, I think this product is a great deal. My only suggestion would be to offer a brushed nickel version. Black door knobs are not as popular these days.

Am using this for an access door on my garage, and its everything I needed. No more keys to haul around, just touchpad admittance. The install is straightforward and simple, if you've changed a door handle before, this is the same thing but with batteries. You just remove the faceplate to install the 4 AAA batteries, and watch that you don't lose the tiny screws holding it on. The handle itself is a bit larger in diameter than a regular doorknob, but the grip is comfortable. On the inside of the door there's a button on the handle that you push a few times to get it blinking and ready to learn the admin fingerprint, and until you set that ALL fingerprints will open the door (so set it right away).
As is, this would be enough for just me and a garage space, but there's also an app to link so that you can set up other family members in case you want this for a regular access. The app will keep track of who goes in & out at whatever time in case you're curious who snuck in an 10:30 last night or whatever too. If the batteries die you can open the door with a key, or power it up with a power unit & a "C" style phone cord to open it until you can replace the batteries. All in all, a nice & simple, high tech lock.

Was looking for a cool upgrade for my office, and this bi-metric doorknob popped up, I'm shocked do how much Ilike it.

First, it's a little larger than I anticipated from a handle standpoint, it feels like it's made of outdoors, but it surprising replaced my interior doorknob to my office with no modifications to the frame at all.

It took about 20 min to install after reading all the instructions, and downloading the app, we encountered very few hiccups Installed straight forward with a standard Philips screwdriver, and after downloading the app I enrolled m y fingerprint, and bang... it worked perfect!

Little sad it's not Wi-Fi so I can see who tried to get into my office remote, but overall, it's a solid and secure upgrade to any door.
