490T Installation Recommendation
Most American doors have two pre-drilled holes. If the distance between the centers of the two holes is less than 12 cm (4.72 inches), the 490T cannot be installed on the lower hole, as the length of the lock will overlap with the upper hole.
For doors with two holes:
Install the 490T on the upper hole whenever possible.
If the center-to-center distance between the two holes exceeds 12 cm (4.72 inches), the 490T can be installed on either the upper or lower hole.

I paint houses for a living and have removed hundreds of door locks to paint doors so I thought I would have no problem installing this one. That was not the case. I struggled for quite a while with getting wire from the one half plugged into the other side. I was using tweezers, needle nose pliers and a clamp on magnifier light and still couldn't get things lines up. I was almost sure it was impossible and was cursing the engineers in my head for making the cable so short when I studied the directions again taking special notice of the position of the half I had to plug into in the picture. I tried one more time duplicating the photo and it clipped right in without the use of tools! So my tip to you is follow the instructions especially when plugging the two halves together through the door. After that the rest of the assembly was a breeze. It was frustrating but as the picture in the instructions shows how to do it I can't deduct any stars for that. The door lock works well and you have so many options and settings through the app. You can set multiple fingerprints, use the included keychains or a generated code to open the locked door. You can set length of time it stays unlocked and even temporarily set it to passage so it stays unlocked. I haven't figured out if it's possible to set your own code at a shorter length but I haven't found a way. I also haven't spent much time trying to do so. Being a painter I often have paint on my fingers at the end of the day and the fingerprint reader rejects my print. I ran into an issue the other day where this happened and I didn't have one of the keychain fobs. I thought I was going to have to climb in through an open window when luckily I remembered I had my phone in my pocket and was able to open it with that. I'm still learning all the ins and outs but this is a very cool lock and I'm quite happy with it.
This electronic door handle is pretty nice. The quality of the build is good, and it has a bespoke app for controlling it that actually worked and allowed for the device to be properly setup. My one complaint about this is similar to other complaints about these kinds of products. I want to use this on my front door but the keypad is so large it interferes with the dead bolt area. Because I want to replace my locks with this kind of lock, I wish they'd go ahead and have it big enough to fully cover the deadbolt location. As it stands I had to use it on a different door. Once installed and setup it worked great. It does not have wifi so the app uses bluetooth.
Solid product!
I no longer worry about losing my keys. The fingerprint recognition is fast, and the keypad is there just in case. It is also great to have the app for remote access.
I have been using this lock for a month now, and it is been perfect. I love being able to unlock with my fingerprint or remotely with the app when I am out.
The build quality is excellent, and all the features work as advertised. The keypad is a solid backup if you ever need it, but the fingerprint and app are my go-tos.
