490TS 5-in-1 Deadbolt Smart Lock with Keypad/Fingerprint/App Control

This smart lock has programmable entry codes via keypad, fingerprint sensor, physical keys, card keys, app controls, and auto lock. The bolt seems sturdy enough. I haven't had it long enough to see how long a charge lasts. This works reliably and is as easy to install as any similar non electronic lock. I got this to install on some of the rentals. This makes giving and changing access a bit easier.

The overall build quality and setup process was great and easy to do. It is sturdy and feels hefty in the hand and when fully put together on my door, I did not feel any movements. Setting it up with the app was super easy and as long as my phone was within a few meters of the lock, it was able to update any of the changes that I made quickly like the finger print and the passcode. I setup a few fingers along with my partners and we were able to use the lock with no problem. There were a few times when our finger prints would cause an error but I can understand when the finger print reader have issues with wet or dirty fingers, etc. Other than that, the passcode always works and it unlocks within a second. I placed this on a door that connects my middle floor to my basement and it allows for easy and secure access.

I paint houses for a living and have removed hundreds of door locks to paint doors so I thought I would have no problem installing this one. That was not the case. I struggled for quite a while with getting wire from the one half plugged into the other side. I was using tweezers, needle nose pliers and a clamp on magnifier light and still couldn't get things lines up. I was almost sure it was impossible and was cursing the engineers in my head for making the cable so short when I studied the directions again taking special notice of the position of the half I had to plug into in the picture. I tried one more time duplicating the photo and it clipped right in without the use of tools! So my tip to you is follow the instructions especially when plugging the two halves together through the door. After that the rest of the assembly was a breeze. It was frustrating but as the picture in the instructions shows how to do it I can't deduct any stars for that. The door lock works well and you have so many options and settings through the app. You can set multiple fingerprints, use the included keychains or a generated code to open the locked door. You can set length of time it stays unlocked and even temporarily set it to passage so it stays unlocked. I haven't figured out if it's possible to set your own code at a shorter length but I haven't found a way. I also haven't spent much time trying to do so. Being a painter I often have paint on my fingers at the end of the day and the fingerprint reader rejects my print. I ran into an issue the other day where this happened and I didn't have one of the keychain fobs. I thought I was going to have to climb in through an open window when luckily I remembered I had my phone in my pocket and was able to open it with that. I'm still learning all the ins and outs but this is a very cool lock and I'm quite happy with it.

Smart lock was easy to set up on app. Installed took longer than expected due to the wires were hard to connect. Instructions were clear to understand. I really like how I have some many way to use this look, like with code, finger, fob, key and app. You will need a gateway to unlock remotely.
