Get It!

I bought this to keep my toddler from opening the door to the basement and possibly falling down the stairs. I wanted something to look like the rest of the door levers in our house and this matches well. The reviews and the price sold me. Install was a breeze and I was even able to use the latch that I had in the door from the lever I replaced. The biometric is incredibly fast and responsive, and you can turn off the lock with a simple hold of a button

The locks are VERY cool

These are solid, and work well. Super easy to program, yet seem secure. We're using for our front door which has a deadbolt for nighttime, but then a normal latch for entry. We installed this to keep that door locked whenever it's closed, and to allow the kids to enter during the day without having to carry a key. So far, so good.
My ONLY complaint is that the deadlatch that comes with this has a chrome plate. We have black hardware everywhere, and these handles are black, but then the latches for the door are chrome? Worse still, they aren't the type you can pop off and replace. I was able to pry them off, but it wasn't easy, and I had to re-flatten the backplate. While I would've just gone with the chrome, the faceplate had square edges, while I needed radius to fit the cutout in the door. Since I decided to get these for all of the bedrooms as well, I went online and found a complete new deadlatch set for $8. Unfortunately, they were $20 on Amazon, so I can't share the site I bought them from. Needless to say, I hope they update this with a swappable faceplate in the future. Otherwise, these are really neat!!!

Easy to install, but keep a key nearby after you get out of the shower!

"This is the coolest door knob," is not something that I'd normally say out loud, luckily, I'm typing it, so I don't think that it lost my any cool points. So I live in an apartment complex that has had a grand total of 10+ maintenance men working here since I moved in, and that was only two years ago. That means that there are constantly people coming in and out of this apartment complex with access to the keys to anyone's apartment. I've had shoes stolen, I've had jewelry stolen, I've had so many things taken, in fact, that I've honestly lost count. So I put all of my valuables in my rooms closet now, and I put this door lock on it. Problem solved, no more missing items! Weird how that works, huh?

There is also an app you can download for the door lock, it can be unlocked via bluetooth, or with either of the two keys included with the doorknob. I've had a few problems with the fingerprint reader when just getting out of the shower, nut that's what the keys are for, but normally it's pretty responsive. Occasionally, you may have to wipe off the fingerprint reader and try again. It was very easy to install, even for a 27 year old female such as myself. I'm extremely glad I found this item, as safety was a huge concern of mine and now that I have this lock...my belongings actually feel secure in my apartment.

Good simple fingerprint doorknob

Overall it's not a bad door knob. I'm not fond of the option of plugging it in. I'd much prefer having to just change batteries every 6 months. I also wish this knob had the option of putting in a code. But thankfully if your fingerprint isn't working you have the option for using a key. Sti is if you take the dog out and you try to get inside and your fingerprint gives you trouble. Luckily it hasn't become an issue at this point. But, that is a worry I have.

Pretty Cool Fingerprint Doorknob

In my opinion, this doorknob is pretty neat. I needed a new doorknob for my bedroom door and decided to get something fancy to try out. My bedroom door doesn't have a lock on it, so I wanted something with a lock on it. The installation wasn't very hard, it took me 10 minutes with the right tools, and the sturdiness of the door handle is very good.

I do like the fingerprint reader on it. It does make you install an app to basically pair with your phone and login to be able to give you notifications on who unlocked the door and when it happened, IF you give access to people to be able to open the door with their fingerprint.

The doorknob uses triple A batteries and you're able to charge them without having to take the knob off which is great. But you'll need a long charger depending on where your knob is in tandem with a wall outlet. It may be easier to have fully charged batteries on deck and just swap them out when the app tells you it's low. It's just 1 screw and the panel pops right off to replace them. The panel comes off like a TV remote case, just like how you'd replace the batteries off your TV remote. It pops off like that, but horizontally from the knob.

It comes with 2 spare keys. It's kinda odd shaped, so I'm not sure how easy it'd be to make copies in case you lose the keys and the battery on the knob dies. It'd be safe to keep 1 key on you, and keep the backup key in a safe place that anyone can use in case of an emergency. Because if you lose both spares and the knob dies, I'm not sure how you'd be able to get in unless you kick the door down or take it apart. That's why I gave this 4 stars, it's because of the keys shape. If the keys happen to be able to be copied, I will update this review and show where I made copies from so people can do the same if they want copies as well.
